ESR Tube Function Introduction
ESR tube is a special laboratory blood collection tube dedicated to erythrocyte sedimentation rate detection, widely used in hospitals and clinical laboratories.
The tubes are pre-filled with anticoagulants such as sodium citrate in a precise 4:1 blood-to-additive ratio, ensuring optimal blood sample preservation and accurate test results.
When a patient's blood is collected in an ESR tube, it is mixed thoroughly with the additive to prevent clotting. The sample is then placed in an ESR analyzer or Westergren tube rack for testing.
