Microtainer Blood Collection Tubes
Unlike standard tubes that require large-volume venous blood samples, microtainer tubes are intended for capillary blood obtained through fingerstick or heelstick procedures, offering a less invasive and more patient-friendly sampling method.
Made of high-purity medical-grade PP and Polyethylene materials, the tubes feature ultra-smooth inner walls and high light transmittance, effectively preventing sample hemolysis and allowing clear visual observation of blood volume.
The integrated microgard anti-splash screw cap is another key upgrade over ordinary blood tubes. It provides tight sealing, prevents blood leakage and aerosol splashing during sampling, transportation and centrifugation, significantly reducing medical exposure and cross-contamination risks.
Depending on testing requirements, the tubes are available with various additives such as K2 EDTA, Lithium Heparin, Clot Activator, Serum Separator Gel, and Fluoride/Oxalate. These additives ensure proper specimen preservation and accurate test results.
Compared with standard vacuum blood collection tubes, microtainer tubes require significantly smaller blood volumes, typically ranging from 0.25ml to 1ml, making them particularly suitable for infants and patients with difficult venous access.
They help reduce patient discomfort, minimize blood loss, and lower the risk of anemia associated with repeated blood sampling. Additionally, their compact size and specialized design make specimen collection more efficient in situations where venipuncture is impractical.
