Blue Top PT Blood Collection Tube
The Blue Top PT Blood Collection Tube is used to collect blood samples for coagulation testing in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, and other clinical settings. It contains sodium citrate, which prevents blood from clotting before analysis and helps preserve the sample for coagulation tests.
The tube is commonly used for Prothrombin Time (PT), Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (APTT), fibrinogen, D-Dimer, and other hemostasis tests. It is available with 3.2% or 3.8% sodium citrate, depending on testing requirements. The correct blood-to-additive ratio is important for reliable test results.
Made from PET or glass, the tube is designed for use with standard blood collection needles and holders. The blue cap allows easy identification in routine sample collection, while the sealed tube helps prevent leakage during handling and transport. It can also be used with compatible laboratory analyzers.
