These disposable flocked swabs are used for nasal and throat sample collection.
The tips are nylon flocked, and the sticks can be either ABS or PP. Each swab has a pre‑scored notch on the shaft. You can just snap that notch easily once you finish taking samples. This keeps samples from spilling or getting contaminated, and you don't need extra handling steps. When you snap it off, the swab tip can go fully under the preservation liquid. That lets the sample come off better, so test results end up more accurate.
As for dimensions: on nasal swabs, the break notch sits 3 cm from the tip. On throat swabs, it is 8 cm away. Both kinds have a standard total length of 15 cm. These swabs work alongside VTM sample collection tubes.
